Mythos
Return to ArtIZCo
Silent angels. Scientific demons. Paris at Ida. Frida Kahlo Dreaming Diego Rivera. Savitri riddling Death for her husband's life ....
... Mythos.
These are four draft Mss from the mid 90's: Angels, Savitri, Kahlo and Mythos
Angels was gathered together when I was invited to submit some poems to a local magazine.
Savitri began as a text for dance, and morphed into ancient indian parables with shades of Roger Zelazny's Amber sci-fi-fantasy series (I'm still waiting for the dance version)
Rosefin aka "The Old Man of the Roses" is a quiet mystery story about a reticent gardener who dissapears one day, and whose abscence ripples through a small town.
Kahlo was suppossed to be some text for a collage-puzzle based on Frida Kahlo's paintings. The puzzle was never completed, but sits in a jumble of partially cut-out but not quite pasted together cardboard pieces tucked into the crowded space beneath the cheap pine table in my "art corner".
Mythos first 45 pages are "organized" in whatever sense you wish to interpret that, and then what follows is more a grab bag of mythologies (and includes early versions/fragments of some of the above pieces).
The "garden deity" is from the garden of Stan Salthe.
